What Is an HPL Cleanroom Panel?
An HPL cleanroom panel uses resin-impregnated kraft-paper laminate bonded to aluminum honeycomb, MgO or rock wool. The hard surface resists chemicals, scratches and impact while retaining its color.
HPL withstands repeated disinfection without fading, peeling or rusting. Select aluminum honeycomb for low weight and flatness, or rock wool/MgO for A-grade fire performance.
Part of Wonclean's cleanroom sandwich panel family, the HPL panel matches our HPL cleanroom doors, ceiling systems and windows for a fully sealed, flush cleanroom wall system.

HPL Surface vs Coated-Steel Surface
| Feature | HPL Panel | Coated-Steel Panel |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical / disinfectant | Excellent — resists alcohol, H₂O₂, bleach | Good; coating can degrade over time |
| Scratch / impact | Very hard, abrasion-resistant | Paint can scratch and chip |
| Corrosion | Never rusts | Can rust if coating is broken |
| Color & decor | Color-through, wood grains, fade-resistant | Surface paint colors |

Expert FAQ on HPL Cleanroom Panels
What advantages does HPL have over a coated-steel panel?
HPL resists disinfectants, scratches, impact, humidity and corrosion, with a broad choice of colors and wood-grain finishes.
Which core can I have behind the HPL surface?
Choose aluminum honeycomb for low weight and flatness, or rock wool/MgO for A-grade fire performance.
What is the fire rating of an HPL panel?
Fire performance depends on the selected core and HPL grade, with EN 438 and EN 13501-1 reports available.
What colors and finishes are available?
Solid colors and wood-grain decors are available in matt or satin finishes, with batch matching for consistency.
How flat are the panels and do they survive transit?
Panels target ≤ 2 mm/2 m flatness and ship film-wrapped with edge protection and plywood crating.
What are the lead time and minimum order?
Typical lead time is 10–15 days for samples or small orders and 20–25 days for a full container, subject to specification.
